Vintage Van Cleef & Arpels Brooch-Pendant (1950s)
Vintage Van Cleef & Arpels Convertible Moth Brooch-Pendant (Circa 1950s)
A rare collector’s treasure from the golden era of mid-century design, offering exquisite versatility. Crafted by Van Cleef & Arpels New York, this limited-edition moth features intricate 14K yellow gold ropework framing the expansive, textured wings. The central design is a display of hand-carved gemstones: two vibrant blue sapphires form the thorax, culminating in a striking, carved emerald drop for the lower body. This colorful trio is crowned by a polished round cabochon ruby head with delicate gold antennae. This exceptional piece is set with a mix of Old European and round brilliant cut diamonds. It is fitted with a curved back pin and safety clip hook, allowing it to be worn elegantly as a pendant.
